Essentials for Baby Guide

Caleb Vincent made his grand entrance to the world and with that this new mom had to learn all about the lovely baby products all over again.  It’s been almost 6 years since Colton was born and EVERYTHING changed.  If you are a new mom-to-be or going to be attending a baby shower, I am sure you want to know what products out there are the must haves and what you can do without.  Well I am going to help you out by doing all the work for you with this Essentials for Baby Guide.

iBaby Monitor M6

This is the Cadillac of Baby Monitors.

You download the App on your phone, connect your phone to your secure network, plug in your monitor and viola... you are pretty much set up.

I love this because I can see Caleb on my phone from anywhere. So if I would need a baby sitter, I can peek in and see how he is doing while I am gone.

You can move the monitor 360 degrees with a swipe of your finger on the screen. This is useful because Caleb has 2 napping spots in our room, so if I forget to move the monitor, I don't have to go all the way back up to move it.

You can play music and talk to your baby through the monitor.

You can record video and take pictures.

While it is a great monitor... it will also make a great nanny cam if i ever need a baby sitter.
Baby's Journey Changing Pad and Station

Baby's Journey
If you are looking for a great, functional Diaper Changing station, this is definitely one to check out.

The pad is nice and thick, very comfy for baby!

There is an organizational piece that goes along with it. It has 2 compartments, I put diapers in one and creams in the other. It has a wipes holder... AND the best part of all... a little night light so you can see your little one in the dark during those late night diaper changes. (The night light is one thing that REALLY sets this apart from the others).
Hunched Babies Organic Muslin Swaddle Blankets

Hunched Babies Swaddle Blankets

These are the swaddle blankets I swear by! They are made of the soft and breathable muslin fabric and very versatile.

I use these for more than just swaddling. They are good for, sun protection, nursing cover, a blanket to lay on, burp cloths, cuddling (yes they are that soft that Caleb cuddles with the swaddle blankets.), and many more uses! I have one in my diaper bag at all times. :-)
Hunched Babies Rayon from Bamboo Baby Wash Cloths

BEST WASH CLOTHS EVER!
These are SO soft for baby's skin, and soak up a good amount of water, which makes washing even easier. :-)
Boppy Pregnancy Back Rest

This is not only a great Pregnancy Back rest, but also great for nursing! I got this at the end of my pregnancy, and it worked wonders for support while I was busy working right before the baby came, but it has also provided great back support while I am nursing and pumping :-)
Boppy Nursing Pillow

This is a great nursing pillow. I carried this along with me to the hospital and used it from day one.

There are two sides to this nursing pillow so you can choose what suits your needs best. I prefer the firm, flat surface, but there is a soft, pillow-like surface as well.

It has a buckle that is great to strap it around you, but also makes it great for carrying if you need to :-)
Boppy Bare Naked Pillow

This is one thing that hasn't changed since Colton was born... you need a boppy for every baby!!

The boppy is a great nursing pillow... but most of all it is great for baby to sit in. I use it right now to prop Caleb up a bit so he can see whats going on.

A few months from now, I will use it to help him sit up or if he falls over, he will land on the soft Boppy Pillow :-)
Boppy Water Resistant Cover

If you have a Boppy you NEED the Water Resistant Cover. Think about it like this... you have this nice pillow that you love and you want to take care of it right? There are so many sanitary things to consider with a pillow of any sort- but this is something your baby will be using.

You want the cover because babies spit up, the pee, and they poop. For those just in case moments... invest in the water resistant cover so you save your boppy pillow from being poop, peed, or spit up on :-)
Boppy Cover Plush

You will want to get at least one Boppy Cover for your Boppy Pillow. I LOVE the plush covers. They are soft, thick and wipe off a bit easier than the cotton covers.
Tiny Love Magical Night Musical Mobile

Screen Shot 2015-06-08 at 1.00.06 AM

This 3 in 1 Mobile grows as your baby grows. With a hanging mobile, projection, and then finally a lamp, this is the perfect Mobile to get the most bang for your buck.

Caleb loves the music and lights of the projection. Definitely a notch above the rest of the Mobiles on the market.
Halo SwaddleSure Adjustable Sleep Sack

Halo SwaddleSure

The Halo SwaddleSure Adjustable Sleep Sack is a great swaddling tool. I brought this to the hospital and swaddled Caleb in it from day ONE!

He slept great, and what I like best is that is not tight around the legs so you don't have to worry about hip dysplasia that you may fear with other swaddle wraps. He slept VERY well when swaddled, and it helped to keep this little squirmer on his back :-)
BroBo

Brobo 4

BroBo is a super cute nightlight and stuffed animal. They are soft and cuddly, but have a LED night light on their belly. Just swipe a hand or tail over the light, it will vibrate and turn on. The light will stay on for 5 minutes.

I use Caleb's BroBo as a night light when he wakes up to nurse. I keep it in my bed since its soft. It is perfect for this. Colton also has a BroBo, and he turns it on every night when I tuck him in. BroBo is definitely a toy that will grow with your kiddo, as you can see it is useful for the baby and Colton loves it too!
Twilight Turtle

ttclassic_thumb

Twilight Turtle is an all time favorite of mine for the little ones.

The Classic Twilight Turtle has three options for light colors: green, blue, and amber. He has a hard shell, but his body is SUPER soft.

Twilight Turtle is great for providing a little light in babies room while rocking or nursing. The light auto shuts off after 45 minutes.

What I found really cool is that it projects actual star constellations on the ceiling and walls. :-)
Twilight Buddies Pig

tb_pig

The Twilight Buddies are the perfect cuddly buddy for travel.

Like the Twilight Turtle, Twilight Buddies project real constellations on your child's ceiling, giving them a gentle light to fall asleep to.

Twilight buddies have a super soft body and smaller projection area, making them a lot more cuddly.
Glow Cuddles Bunny

glocuddle_bunny_frnt

Glow Cuddles Bunny is one of my absolute favorites. He is SO SOFT all over and very cuddly.

With a little hug you or your little one can turn on the soft glow belly and heart beat vibration/sound.

This is great for newborns and little ones that you are trying to get to sleep in their own bed. Give your baby the comfort of a heartbeat sound and vibration to help them feel secure in their new surroundings.

There are two sleep-timer options with auto shut-off: 10 minute timer on the touch feature – heartbeat or vibration, 23 minute timer on the soft glow. Oh and it can be machine washed and dried when heart unit is removed.

I tend to be a minimalist, and don’t use a lot of baby gear. My must haves for my newest baby are a few babaywearing wraps, car seat, and sleep sack.
