Celebration Ideas for the Birth of Your Baby

If you’ve just had a baby, you’ll no doubt want to celebrate with your family and friends. Your family and friends should be more than happy to oblige too; the birth of a baby is a very exciting time! There are a number of things you could choose to do. Here are a few of my favorites:

A Home Get Together
Having a small get together at home is perfect if you want to spend quality time with your loved ones. Invite your nearest and dearest friends and family, and put on a small buffet if you like. Everyone will get the chance to meet your baby at this point too, if they haven’t already. Be prepared to have a bit of a messy home afterwards, but it’s nothing you won’t be able to handle providing you don’t toast this celebration with too much fizz. If you’re feeling crafty, you could always make some of the decorations yourself for a personalised touch! If the weather is nice, you could even have the celebration in the garden, complete with a gazebo and barbecue.

A Night Out With Friends
You won’t be able to bring your baby along to this, that goes without saying. This is more of a celebration of you. You can spend time with your best friends relaxing, having a drink, some food, and maybe even a dance if the moment takes you. This is the perfect excuse to take a break from being a new parent for one night, and celebrate this massive achievement.

A Christening
Although a christening is seen primarily as a religious celebration, some people use it as an excuse to get everybody together. If you have faith at all, this might be a good choice for you and your loved ones. You don’t need to visit the church every Sunday to be eligible, so don’t worry. This is one of the most expensive celebrations of them all though, as you’ll need to pay for decorations, food, venues, outfits, and more. You may also want to mark this special occasion with something from www.christeningsilver.com.

Throw a Big Party
Alternatively, you could miss the christening part out altogether and throw a big party instead! Book a suitable venue, and you won’t need to worry about your house getting messed up with a party at home. You could put some food on yourself, or hire a caterer to do a buffet for your guests. As you’ll more than likely be inviting other kids, this is a party that’s unlikely to continue into the early hours. Make sure you specify on the invites what the guests should expect, what they should wear, and whether you are accepting gifts. Don’t leave out any important information, or you could end up missing a few guests!

These are simply suggestions; feel free to celebrate the arrival of the new member in any way you see fit. If you have any suggestions of your own, leave a comment below. Thanks for visiting!
