Crayola Experience Activities

A must do for Preschoolers: The Crayola Experience Orlando

My family visited Orlando earlier this month and while we were there, we decided to check out some things to do that were not going to be long days, trying to take it easy after a full day of traveling.  The Crayola Experience has been on my list since it opened, but we haven’t been down to Orlando since then with an opportunity to check it out.

Crayola Experience Activities

My little guys are 3 and 4, and I felt like they were the PERFECT age for The Crayola Experience.  Caleb, who is 4 (starting Kindergarten next fall) was truly into everything they had to offer.  He really enjoys crafts and constructive things to do, so he fully took advantage of every activity that was available.  Cohen, who is 3, enjoyed a lot of the activities, but his attention span was not really there to enjoy EVERYTHING or at least not at the level Caleb was able to enjoy it, but there was still a lot for him to do and see and he had a really great time.Crayola Experience Life Size Dry Erase

When we got there the kids were so excited about the bright colors and interactive giant screens in the lobby.  Dad took them over to play with the screens while I got us all checked in and asked some questions to make sure I understood how everything worked.  I got all the information, and our tokens and we were off to the fun upstairs!

I tried to get the boys to do some crafts when we first got there, but they saw the giant play area and they were off to play and burn off some energy.  There are two play areas, one for toddlers and one for big kids.  The boys thoroughly enjoyed BOTH play areas.  The big kid one was a little big for Cohen- but he has a big brother helping him so he wanted to be in the big kids one too.  The Toddler Play area has a life size Lite Brite, and some fun toys to bounce on- along with a smaller play area with slides.  The big kids play area has a lot of climbing spaces and fun slides.

Crayola Experience Spin Art

Each of us got 2 tokens and one voucher to decorate a cat.  There are some activities that do not need any tokens or vouchers- those you are able to do as many as you want.

We headed off to check out the plush cats.  It seems that the craft in this area does change periodically.  Today was a cat that the kids colored with markers- and then rinsed off, dried and were able to color again.  These cats were a hit.  The boys really enjoyed coloring them- washing them and repeating the process.  They are still a hit, even after we left.  The boys have carried these cats around and played with them for the last month.

Crayola Experience ClayThe Tokens- Each person receives two tokens with their ticket.  The tokens can be used for a variety of little take homes.  You can customize crayon wrappers- so we made everyone their own crayon.  You can get a small pack of crayons, a marker, or a pack of clay.  The clay is similar to play-doh and there are tables of tools that the kids can play with the clay there.  You can also buy additional tokens for $1 each.  Our favorite thing was the clay, because it was a nice hands on activity that we all enjoyed, but the personalized crayons were cool too!

All of the other activities you are welcome to do without tokens and as many times as you want.  There was a melted crayon spin art, melting crayons into molds, and another activity where there was a pen that melted crayons and you draw with the melted crayons.  All fun stuff!

The kiddos had a ball!  There are other activity stations- shows- experiments- and some add on crafts you have buy and make.  Definitely something fun to do if you are in Orlando and looking for something indoors to do on a hot or rainy day.

Remember teachers get a free one year membership (VIP Kid Teachers Count- just bring your 6 Apple Card) so if you are a teacher definitely take advantage of that special offer!

FTC Disclosure:  I received complimentary passes to the Crayola Experience.  However, all opinions in this post are my own honest opinions and not skewed based on receiving complimentary passes.

Disney on Ice has skated into Orlando and they are bringing new thrills and experiences just for you and your family. I went out to check out the new show last night and I was amazed at what they have done with it. If you have a Princess or Prince who loves all things Disney, you will not want to miss the show this year. I am going to share a Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart review so you know what to expect before going to the show.

Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review

Be our Guest!

Disney On Ice Follow Your Heart Review

Be prepared for a visit from some of your favorites such as Lumiere and Cogsworth. Not only will you enjoy an abbreviated version of many of your favorite stories, you will also get see a strong cast perform a beautiful show that is sure to bring a smile to any child’s face.

Be Aware
Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review
If you have a child who is sensitive to strobe lights, sudden loud noises, or some of the villains from Disney you may want to plan accordingly as these elements are part of the show. There are occasional pyrotechnics integrated into the show. It may be good to prepare your child for these. You will also see a few of the villains in this show. If you child is afraid of them, make sure to prepare them for these characters.

Be emotional
Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review
This year Riley and all of her emotions join us. Riley has a big game and the emotions are here to help her out. The emotions fit the show so well and had all the kids around me laughing. I love the new show setup where they integrate the different story elements into a bigger story using the emotions. I won’t tell you if the emotions hit the ice, you will have to see the show.

Be ready to Fly!

Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review

This year Disney on Ice is stepping it up a notch and adding an aerial component to the show. I loved this adventure above the ice. Not only will Rapunzel spend some time in the air, one other amazing character does a beautiful job of taking to the air. Want to find out who it is? Make sure to get your tickets before they are gone.

Be ready to Remember

Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart Review

Join the adventure with young Dory as we learn that not only does she have parents, but we need to find them! This part of the show does an incredible job of using multiple view points and characters to tell a beautiful story. I may have shed a single tear as Dory asked her parents what would happen if she ever forgot them. This is a beautifully done portion of the show and I definitely enjoyed every minute of it including the knowledge of where the “Just keep swimming” song started.

Be Ready to Shiver

What would Disney on Ice be without our favorite princesses? Join Olaf as he hears the story of how he and Anna became friends. Be ready for some amazing effects as they bring the winter to life and bring you into the magic. It can get a bit chilly but don’t worry, Olaf is there to bring a bit of Summer to the show. Everyone in the arena was singing along to every song. You could tell they were having a blast.

Be Surprised!
There are tons of things included in the show that I have not shared in this review. There are surprises that will leave your child amazed. There are even a few that will make them laugh. Make sure to get your tickets today for Disney on Ice Follow Your Heart.

Have MORE fun with your kids using Groupon Coupons!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post.  I received monetary payment for this post, but all opinions are my own.

Groupon coupon
As a single mom, money is always tight and when I have a little extra, I want to have the most fun possible with my kids.  If we plan a trip to do anything at all, I am looking for coupons to use so I can save money on that activity.  (More money saved = More fun we can have!)

When we start planning something to do, the very first place I start is Groupon Coupons.  If I know what I want to do, or a round about location we will be visiting I search their site and see what deals and coupons they are offering.  Usually, I can save at least 50% on our outing if I can find a Groupon.

For me, having the Groupon either means one of two things.  Either I am able to spend the extra money on something additional for the kids, like a souvenir or extra snack or a meal out.  OR the activity is now affordable and we can go vs I may not have had the extra money to go without using Groupon to find extra savings.

We have used Groupon for a variety of activities, but now they have additional coupons like through Hotels . com.  Well if you shop through Groupon Coupons you can get an additional 50% coupon for Hotels.com, so in addition to the great deal you would be getting on a hotel, you are also going to get an additional discount too!

If you love to travel, here is a list of what you can save even more on using Groupon:
Hertz
Hotels . com
Hotwire
Travelocity

Also, don’t forget to check your zip code and travel destination for LOCAL Groupons!   Not only to save money, but also for ideas of things to do!  I have found many cool things to do both in my area and on vacation through Groupon.com!

Three Amazing Family Friendly Vacations

Proper planning and keeping the kids entertained is the key to a successful family vacation. Choose one of the options below for a fun packed holiday that is sure to be a hit with the kids.

Disney

Of course, number one on the list has got to be Disney. Meet your favorite characters, see the parade and ride the roller coasters. Disney is set up for children of all ages.

Disney Parks

Image

Disney is a great US based holiday, and you can either stay in one of the park hotels or get a villa near to the park. If you go for a villa, make sure to rent one with a pool so you can cool off in the hot weather. If you decide to go for one of the fabulous themed Disney hotels, take a peek at the free dining packages as they can save you a packet.

If you are looking for a more international adventure, try the Paris or Shanghai locations. If you choose the Paris park, rent a car and make sure you take in the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe, and the love. Kids will get a kick out of seeing the mummies in the Egypt exhibit.

If you go for the Shanghai location, make time to absorb some Chinese culture. Popular activities include a Huangpu-river-cruise at night, a food led city tour or check out an acrobatic show.

Brilliant for kids and adults alike, there are now Disney themed cruised available.  The grown-ups can relax while the little ones are entertained by their favorite Disney characters.  So it’s definitely a win-win situation.

RV Trip

A good old American road trip is something the kids can get into. Get them involved with planning the journey and picking out the locations that they would like to visit. Take the well-traveled Route 66 or go for a more usual option like a tour of America’s weirdest museums.

If you are consider buying your own RV for the trip, there are plenty of local dealerships with  a wide range of motorhomes for sale. Remember to pick one that has enough space for the whole family as you will spend the majority of the day in there together. Motor homes make an especially good option for families with food allergies or special diets. You can use the kitchens to cook your own food and ensure exactly what goes into it.

Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon

The 277 mile long and 4000ft deep Grand Canyon, is a brilliant location for a family friendly vacation. Its spectacular beauty is great inspiration for artists, so why not get the kids sketching or taking photos for their journal?  A helicopter ride, down into the canyon will up the excitement level,  and if you want to go all out, why not horseback ride through the canyon itself? Of course, you don’t want to miss the sky walk either! As the Grand Canyon is set in its own national park, there are plenty of other activities to do. Think river rafting and trekking. The kids can even become a junior ranger!

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic Review

“I am a Feld Entertainment Blogger Ambassador, and in exchange for my time and efforts in attending shows and reporting my opinion within this blog, as well as keeping you advised of the latest discount offers, Feld Entertainment has provided me with complimentary tickets to Feld shows and other exclusive opportunities.”
This week I had the opportunity to head over to Disney on Ice 100 Years of Magic presented by Stonyfield YoKids Organic Yogurt! It was an amazing show and i am so excited to share some of the new things that are offered with this year’s show. The show definitely had some new additions as well as a few of the timeless favorites.

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic Review
At the beginning of the show be ready to get up and get active with a little bit of dancing. Because the show is presented by Sontyfield YoKids Organic Yogurt there is a short intro about being the healthiest you that you can be. What better way to exercise than with a fun dance number introduced by Mickey and Minnie? I watched as many kids stood up and had a blast dancing before the show.

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic Review Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic Review
If you love Princesses you will not be disappointed. In the show we get to spend a few minutes with each princess remembering all the wonderful things that brought her to her prince.
Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic ReviewI bet you can guess which princess and queen steal the show though. That’s right. You will get a wonderful part of the show where Anna and Else relive their wonderful story. I was so happy to see Olaf and celebrate summer with him one more time. Don’t be surprised when the famous song, “Let it go” comes on. Just do like the kids sitting next to me did, and sing along.

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic ReviewBecause we are celebrating 100 years of magic we get to see some of our Disney friends who don’t typically visit the show. Be ready to grab shell because the one and only Crush makes his way on to the ice to help Marlin find Nemo. This part of the show was so much fun and I really loved seeing Squirt show off some of his best moves on the E.A.C. with all of his friends.

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic ReviewDon’t expect it be just skaters on the ice. What would Mulan be without a larger than life Mushu on the stage Pumba even makes his way on to the ice as well as one of our favorite space rangers and his cowboy pal.

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic ReviewDisney on Ice still keeps to some of the amazing tricks we have come to love. With moves like the one pictured above your children and sure to be wowed and amazed.

Disney On Ice 100 Years of Magic ReviewIf you haven’t bought your tickets yet, you are missing out. Find a Disney on Ice show near you and enjoy  years of Disney magic.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus Xtreme Show Review

I was not compensated for this post. I did receive 4 tickets to the show to facilitate my review. All opinions are 100% my own.

Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® Presents CIRCUS XTREME logo

Last night we headed out to Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Circus Xtreme. To say we were amazed, overwhelmed, and happy with the experience is an understatement. We had such an amazing time! I am going to share some of the highlights as well as what you can expect from the event.

SONY DSCSONY DSC

Pre-Show –One of the great things you can expect when you show up is an amazing pre-show. You will be welcome on the floor to see some of the best acts up close and personal. There are also a few fun activities as part of the pre-show. Whether you decide to try on some of the costumes or have a clown dance party you are sure to enjoy yourself.

SONY DSC

Silliness – One of the fun things about the circus is the ability to just be silly for a time. The clowns in this show work well with the main characters to tickle your funny bone. Be prepared to hear giggles and gut level laughs whenever the clowns show up.

SONY DSC

High Wire Talent – This high wire act blew me away! They were truly incredible. Between jumping over one another and the above pictured maneuver that sill had more steps to it they really stepped up the high wire experience.

SONY DSCSONY DSC

Animals – Many of the acts included incredible animals doing unbelievable things! Whether you watch an elephant doing a head stand or a tiger doing a jump you are sure to be impressed. The trainer even came out with the elephants and explained where different behaviors could be found in nature. If you don’t love lions and elephants don’t worry. You can enjoy poodles, snakes, camels, horses, and much more.

SONY DSCSONY DSCSONY DSC

Amazing Stunts- I was absolutely blown away by the different skills displayed at this show. The woman pictured center blasted out of a canon, the man to the left jumped from the heights and still managed to regain his footing. The ladies to the right made all they did look graceful and elegant while wowing you with their skills.

An incredible show! – You can expect to constantly find amazing things at every turn. I haven’t even touched on half of the amazing things that happened in this show! Get your tickets now before it’s too late!
