Last week Colton and I went to Build A Bear to build a My Little Pony. Yes my little dude is a bit of a Brony, he loves My Little Pony, he watches the show, plays with the toys, and plays the games on the ipad. No matter what a little one is making, one thing is for sure they are going to have a great time at the Build A Bear Workshop. We have been to Build A Bear before, but Colton was very young so this was actually the first time he was really into it and that made this visit a lot more exciting!

If you have a My Little Pony fan in your house, a trip to Build A Bear may in order for you! They currently have 5 Ponies to choose from: Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Princess Twilight Sparkle, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy. They also have Spike in a Mini Pal. Colton was really hoping Spike would be in a full sized character, but since they didn’t have Spike he decided to make Rainbow Dash instead.
Then we were off to start building a new friend! After he chose which pony he pony he wanted he got to choose some sounds to put inside. Colton is a huge fan of his birthday right now- no really he thinks his birthday is pretty much every day- so he decided to get the Birthday Song AND he wanted the My Little Pony Theme Song.
Then we were off to the stuffing machine. Over there we learned about something new that Build A Bear offers and that is SCENTSiments! You can make your new friend smell like a variety of different scents, Colton chose bubble gum

After he chose his scent it was time to stuff Rainbow Dash. I have to say the girl that helped us build Rainbow Dash was SO nice, very outgoing and really made the experience fun for Colton. Check out this video of the stuffing process and bringing Rainbow Dash to life:
After he gave rainbow dash a magic heart, he gave her a BEATING heart! This is another new thing since our last visit, your new friend can have a heart that actually beats, I was really impressed with this because it is so life like
Then he was off to get her ready! It was time to fluff her up and make her pretty, comb her hair and blow her with the dryer.

Now that she is all fluffed and pretty it was time to get her dressed. Of course our helper knew exactly the perfect outfit for Rainbow Dash to wear, complete with Shoes, Skates, and a Leash to pull her!
Now that Rainbow Dash was all dressed and ready to go, it was time to create her Birth Certificate and take her home! Colton is such a big boy and did a great job typing his name and creating the Birth Certificate. I am sure you are wondering why you create a birth certificate for your new friend, other than for the certificate for your little one to keep and remember their special day. When you create your birth certificate, you are actually registering your new friend with Build A Bear so they have record of your friend. If for some reason your Build A Bear gets lost, anyone who finds it can simply return it to a build a bear store and they will look up the bar code that is in your bear and return your friend home safe and sound! Thousands of lost friends have been found and returned through this system!
Another great thing about Build A Bear is that they stand behind their product and if your friend is ever broken, torn, seems came apart, or eaten by your furry friend you can take it into a Build A Bear store and they will send your bear to the bear hospital for free and repair it. I actually had a bear get injured by my mom’s dog when I was younger, I talked to my local store about having her repaired and they said to bring her in and they would send her to the bear hospital. I did and got her back a few weeks later, good as new! When you go to Build a Bear you are building a friend for a lifetime and they are doing all that is possible to make sure that happens

After that we were ready to go home!! Colton Had his Rainbow Dash, she was dressed pretty, had her skates on, her hair was pretty and even had some extensions in it– he was so excited!

And we were off… skating… I know you will want to check this out, because we were both really impressed that Rainbow Dash could skate (and we got lots of looks as he skated her through the mall):
Colton is really one of the sweetest kids there is, he may be full of energy and ornery sometimes, but he is always thinking of other kids and always helping others. On the way home from Build A Bear, he tells me that even though he loved making his Rainbow Dash he wanted to give it to our neighbor girl who is still going through treatments for Leukemia. I really did not expect this at all because, well he is 4 and this was a really cool toy. But I am not going to argue with a giving spirit, so when he got home he skated Rainbow Dash up to her house and gave it to her. She was so excited and it really made her happy (and it made me happy to see Colton so happy to give it to her).
Don’t forget that Build A Bear Workshop is a great place to have a birthday party! I was checking out the brochures, and they have Birthday Party Packages for a lot cheaper than you would think, they start at just $12 per child and that includes each child making an animal! Based on the Birthday Parties I have thrown in the past, $12 per child is a GREAT price and they get a cool thing to bring home and keep forever
If you have a My Little Pony Fan, don’t forget to tune into The Hub TV Network to watch the latest episodes of My Little Pony, Friendship is Magic, along with some other really great shows for the whole family!
A huge thank you to Build A Bear Workshop and The Hub Network for setting up this awesome experience for us
